I love this movie so much. In fact I watched it twice in the same week... It unfolds quietly and yet dramatically like a book, almost as if it were directed by a writer (which it is!)... it retains a lot of old-fashioned (in a good way!) meaning and relationship mores from classical Chinese literature and yet is thoroughly modern and fantasy centric. The casting is superb, the styling is perfect and more ... and the story convoluted enough to keep you on your toes from start to end. It opened my eyes to what is possible with a strong vision and modern, popular China film...
