Iowans of the Mighty Eighth was written by Charles Day Taylor born in Leon, Iowa. Charles Day Taylor served as President of the Iowa Chapter 8th Air Force Historical Society for over 20 years and interviewed over 500 Iowans of the 8th Air Force of WWII over a 4 year span and compiled their stories in to Iowans of the Mighty Eighth. Charles Day Taylor's son Charles R. Taylor illustrated the book. The current publisher digitized the new version and incorrectly credited the wrong Charles Taylor. Charles Day Taylor currently resides in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
