The acting in this movie is excellent. However it can be confusing at times. Be prepared to know a lot about the works of these two men or a good deal of this story is confusing. I don’t think the artistic and literary passions of these two legendary men are well explored. Novels and paintings are mentioned but without a background on these masterful works, it is difficult to understand why they were conceived in the first place. That is the biggest weakness of the movie. The viewer is expected to be very well versed in the details of both men’s works and why they created them as well as the innovations they created. The credits at the end are an interesting morphing of reality and the various creations of Mont Sainte Victoire by Cézanne.
