This documentary was….odd. I love documentaries and hearing about strange things that happen between people, and this was definitely one of those. But I must agree with some other reviewers in that I felt no sympathy for the victims (I did for their families, as I would be absolutely BESIDE myself if someone I knew fell for this shit). I couldn’t help but think “what an idiot!” every time they just gave their money away. I don’t know what to think…and then they’d just hand over all of their identification and legal documentation to a rando that claims to be a spy with no proof that what they’re telling you is true? Also what real spy/secretive government personnel is going to reveal that to you?? To a random civilian? I might be reacting harshly but once you watch it, I genuinely feel that there’s no other reaction to be had. If being mind-blown by people’s stupidity is entertaining to you, then this is a good one! Otherwise you might be rolling your eyes and wanting to rip your hair out of your head the whole time. I was somewhere between.
