Kamen Rider 001

I'm not gonna lie. This movie is pretty bad. It does that thing where we get so hyped and expectations are set extremely high. And then it lets us down. Almost every character in this movie is boring. The only ones that are good is kane sogoski's character (can't remember the name). If you knew Japanese tokusatsu, you'd know that kane plays ninja black, jiraya in 1994's ninja sentai kakuranger. Jiraya was an awesome character. He's awesome in this movie, too. Too bad he sacrificed himself. As for don Frye's captain Gordon, well, he's a badass, I love him so God Damn Much!! Everything he does is just awesome!!!! As for the plot, it's an alien invasion plot. It's extremely overused and so dumb!! The aliens show up trying to be friendly. And right off the damn bat, you can tell they're obviously evil. It's like the director wasn't even trying. And the alien characters all suck!!! And there's the fight scenes. Let me point out that there is a difference between referencing and bluntly ripping off. Most scenes in the movie rip off the matrix and use unrealistic CGI in every attack!! The monster fights are all awesome, but they're all fast paced and they consistantly cut away to the human side story. They could have bought back iconic characters from previous Godzilla movies that don't suck. They could have made kaiju action take up almost the entire movie. And we got a Godzilla movie that really sucks!! Don't get me wrong, thought, there are some iconic scenes that I really like. But this just doesn't feel like a Godzilla movie half the time. For me: it's a 6/10
