Fern Brady clearly has other mental health issues besides autism, and sorry...I am not buying that throughout her life hoardes of random men constantly came up to her and just start getting it on. (Even reality show scenes where someone goes into a bar, sees a stranger and immediately starts hard core kissing them are edited.)
I autistic, and I find it problematic that she has decided her story represents us all.
First off, autistic people are far more likely to be lonely virgins than to be constantly having sex.
But I found the description of her violent assaulting someone even more problematic. While it's true that autistic people can get frustrated and have melt downs (I am 49 and still struggling with this), few autistic women:
hit people over the head with bottles.
never grasp that they were at fault for doing that.
realize that they easily could have killed their victim but never express any awareness that if you murder someone...they are dead because of your actions.
She doesn't even seem to understand how blessed she is to not be under employed...like I and the vast majority of autistic people are.
I admire the author for being willing to be so honest about her mental health issues, but this book is absolutely NOT a description of the normal life of autistic people.
