Part of a historical reading on film is getting the known stuff correct. I've read some things on Napoleon and the whole period of Napoleonic wars, and Scott DEFINITELY took some creative license with some facts and non facts. As a director, that's his prerogative but when called on things like showing Napoleon firing cannons at the Pyramids, he snarkily replied, "Were you there"? He's full of himself and the bloated movie shows it.
