Fantastic Season. This season sets a new standard for television AND film. Spectacular performances from the whole cast. Dacre Montgomery was terrifying as the Mind Flayer and David Harbour really acted his heart out. Robin and Erica were a couple of great new characters that add a lot to the story. This show is gripping from start to finish and there was not a boring moment. Smart move to have Joyce and the kids move away! I’d like to see some more humanity in some of these characters such as Mike and Max, who seemed a bit mean. I’d like to see where the emotional build up went from each season, since they never really took advantage of that. I’m wondering how a kid like Will, who’s gone through so much, could ever feel normal again. Season 4 will be an emotional and scary one, and I can’t wait. My only problem is Hopper’s supposed resurrection for Season 4. If you kill a character, sometimes it’s best to leave them dead! Hopper is my favorite character and has served his ultimate purpose- to raise Eleven, protect his town and friends, and grow a bit along the way. Story wise, this may give us a deeper look into was going on in Russia, and maybe some Upside Down lore, but it seems like it will need a ton of explaining and confusing concepts to explain. The good news is that they don’t have to explain how it happened right of the bat, and instead unravel that mystery along the way! Again, I’m not sure if it’s the best idea to bring Hopper back in Eleven’s life because that just ruins the relatability and humanity of the characters. 10/10

This movie was a great “Episode 2” for the Psych franchise (2/6). This movie was almost a flawless follow up to the first and it was hilarious and gripping. I expected before watching that we would see Shawn and Gus’s reaction to Lassiter’s injury, but this movie decided that it would be better for Shawn and Gus to down-play the whole situation with jokes because they are immature. Which is okay but ruins the humanity of the characters, and it’s sad that Shawn and Gus haven’t grown emotional despite all they’ve been through. The beginning felt a bit rushed and used the whole “everyone doesn’t believe someone but a clue makes then realize that person wasn’t crazy” trope. The good news is that Shawn usually got that treatment in the show, and seeing Lassiter getting that makes it fresh. Great performances by the whole cast and the final scene was awesome.

8/10 - This show is in my top 5 favorite shows at this point. Even though it feels like it is the garbage can of bad ideas, all thrown into one big dump, that’s what makes it so good. Its scary, hilarious, completely unpredictable, and original. When watching this, I can truly say I was on the edge of my seat. At the same time, there are random nude scenes and gore that I can’t even believe is somehow allowed on tv- but these scenes can be skipped. I started watching season 2, and was sort of repulsed far, far to much by something a character said about Easter that was crossing the line farther than ever. That’s when I had to stop watching. I believe this show would have continued if it wasn’t so packed with sex, gore, and violence. This show definitely leans on that a bit. But the story is still super interesting and the characters are so complex. That’s why I had to deduct two points. The worst part is that I can’t watch this with anyone in my family because a random nude scene could pop up out of knowhere with no time to skip.
