The reboot is a total hit. In my opinion the shabby old animation needed a reboot. I may not have been a child during the original Rugrats series but I watched it with my niece and nephew all the time. The improvement CGI gives this show made me love it as an adult and I cannot bear to watch the old animation because it's just not good animation. The old comic book style of animating doesn't hold up when they can make it so much better. I actually like the Grandpa better and I think it's just fine that Betty is the one that's LGBTQ. She probably should have been in the original version but people were too uptight to deal with it I guess. As for the voices I have no complaints about any of them. Angelica is just like I hoped her to be, along with all of the babies. Chuckie was always a little annoying with his fears and wimpiness but that's how he should be and his Dad Chaz is fine. Not a character I would pick apart considering his role isn't one of the most essential in the story. I think the complaints about the new version are really petty and obviously it's just this childhood attachment to the old style of animation that they miss. I can't imagine why. I prefer all the newer animation to the dated versions. I just never understood why some people like animation that looks like a seven year old drew it. Please bring back the rebooted version to one of the online services! I had it and one day Paramount+ just dropped it and Netflix says they have the new version until you go there and find the old version. The show was fun and the characters were the same for the most part, they really didn't make enough seasons to give it a good run at outdoing the older one. Congrats to the team who updated this show. It's great. Now just make it available through streaming somewhere! I miss it and can't watch the old version.
