I am a lifelong fan of the books, and I enjoyed this movie adaptation. I thought it was well-cast, and one of the better retellings of Laurie and Amy's relationship. I liked that they also gave time to Meg's story, and even some quick shots of Daisy and Demi. :) . It amused me that they went for a younger man for Professor Bhaer - my dad and I agreed that relationship felt a bit forced in the movie just because it always felt forced in the book. There's a bit of fourth-wall breaking along those lines at the end of the movie that I appreciated. I plan to see it again once it's out on DVD!
