I was very skeptical, in the start to watch this movie. We were scrolling through tons of movies, on Amazon prime. WFH and heavy rains in Hyderabad, when me and my mum decided to watch this movie. And I'm honestly very impressed with this movie. Critics will point out a million things, giving all negative reviews. But this movie definitely shows the importance of what human greed can lead to. Yes, the core plot in the movie is about a doomed marriage, a narcissistic protagonist, the way a person tries to build up an image to make sure they don't feel inferior while associating themselves with higher standard people. But, if you watch it as a movie, for what the entertainers want to convey to the audience, rather than acting WOKE in current generation, nitpicking at everything, this movie definitely makes a lot of sense.
Comparing Hitlers greed and unsatisfaction, and his thirst for power to one side, and showcasing a person being happy despite the fear of death infront of their lives every second of their life through Anne Frank's example, and a man knowing the value of his marriage rather late from an Auschwitz survivor, its a different way of life. And those review is coming from an Indian Jewish Christian standpoint.
I really enjoyed the movie, the actors were good, especially Varuns Dhawans portrayal of a narcissist and Janhvi Kapoors soft hearted character, really pleased my heart, me and my mum loved the movie. I rate this movie a 4.5/5 it's a very beautiful feel good movie.
