As a dog-lover and dog dad, I naturally share a very deep bond with my dog, so the movie was perfectly relatable. I saw myself in Parker and my dog in Hachi. The movie brought forth the sobering realisation that my time with my dog is limited, and that I must cherish every moment of if instead of taking it for granted. I am not someone who typically cries when watching movies, but I must admit, the impeccable storytelling and the love and companionship that Hachi and Parker share as well as Hachi’s unflinching loyalty towards Parker made me cry a lot. This movie is a rare gem!
