I liked this novel! He is supposed to be a difficult read, but I found you could race through the very long sentences and one pararagraph chapters, although I don't claim to understand everything I read. What happens to Esti is truly shocking, and the scenes with the doctor physically forced back on himself is something straight out of Kafka. I am still thinking about this book.
