Watched FDFS in US, decent movie that feels too complicated and long at times… Positives: Lokesh nailed the flashback scenes, a stark contrast to Leo. Old version of Rajini and the frames were immaculate. Twists and turns were used effectively and improved the storytelling. Post interval scenes were perfectly crafted, Acting was phenomenal by Nagarjuna and Soubin as well as Thalaivar and Shruthi. Lokesh’s casting was perfect. As always, Anirudh masterclass! Cinematography and technically very sound film. Negatives: Lack of emotional connection to any character, too many stars made the story confusing and lacked clarity, the drive and purpose for the characters were not justified or logical (why did Soubin do what he did, why Rajini suspected foul play, why Nagarjuna let Rajini go at interval scene), the entire machine that the story was centered around was a weak point, Amir’s portions and the daughter sentiment were unnecessary, action sequences were too long and repetitive.
