A decent movie. 80% of it is Tom running/driving/boating/flying away and you know he has tough plot armour. The villan is pretty bland and nebulous and you don't really feel it's personality. The side characters are walking clichés. However that's a bit of a disservice - there are some great moments and some surprising moments, and clever points on imaging technology. I did laugh more than once. I plan to watch part 2. It's decent.

A terribly boring movie. No one in it is likeable and its way too long. I couldn't finish the movie I was so bored. Its similar to modern day super hero films also flashy explosions while never worrying the main character will die. It's really boring don't bother watching it

This movie is surprisingly good. I just saw Equilibrium and also the new high production movie gray man on netflix. Equilibrium blows it away. It's a proper action/thriller movie where you don't know what's going to happen next. Gray man carrying on from recent marvel films is a total borefest and you know what's going to happen next. Watch Equilibrium!

Baffled by all the 5 star reviews. The movie jumps about all over the place and is no where near as sophisticated as I thought it would be. I thought it was a little dull, unrealistic, unconvincing and a bit tacky. There are of course good moments. Kevin Spacey in particular is good as the slightly corrupt cop. The other leads do well.enough and keep the interest going as the film forces itself along. it's worth a watch but not amazing.

Great movie. Though it's interesting it seems to be very polarizing. I see three types of responses: 1. People/movie critics/newspapers - that see the movie as an indirect attack on their politics/newspapers. 2. People who are big on environmental issues/climate scientists who appreciate the not so subtle reference to global warming. 3. People able to just enjoy the movie without thinking too much about it/ accepting it's a silly movie about a meteor heading to earth. Not questioning too deeply people's motivations and seeing it as a light hearted piece. Most people are in the latter camps. The movie in this light is hilarious with some great moments. A complexity is that while it is ment to be playful take on people obsession with social media, greed, and the dominance of technology, there is an obvious critique of powerful organisations response to global warming - how good a job it does on this is up for debate. For those that think governments have not done enough , are sceptical about technology saving us, they will like it. Others may not be able to stomach the politics and understandably hate it. Alternatively if you just see it as a light hearted movie - accept it's premise and you're in for a good time. Its understandable why ratings vary but definitely worth a watch.

Watchable with often good camera work and attractive actors. The twist at the end works and is clever. But the script is too often terrible - it's corny, inauthentic, poor attempts at humour, etc. And the plot is too often unbelievable. It's ok
