This book is a horror story. The incredible amount of research that resulted in this minute by minute account of the man-made destruction of life as we know it is mind-boggling. It terrifies me that nuclear attack protocols haven't been updated much since its inception. I'm more terrified that these weapons continue to be developed and deployed by rogue nations. I shudder when I hear people nonchalantly talk about so-called tactical nuclear weapons in warfare as if they are no big deal. No one wins a nuclear war and this book describes in great detail how everyone loses. Our most existential threat is not climate change--it is nuclear war. And this threat is one that mankind has brought upon itself. Everyone should read this book before voting.
