I loved it. Iโm a hardcore TR/Lara fan and this was a delight. If you grew up playing any of the games, youโll agree thereโs definitely elements of Tomb Raider and Lara in all of the episodes. Thereโs even similar locations/scenarios. They paid tribute to past Lara adventures, both movie and game-wise (the mythical T-Rex was a bit much, but Iโll allow it โ itโs exactly the kind of absurd thing youโd find in early TR). As for the other characters, their dynamic with Lara, Laraโs seemingly โweakโ behavior, and the various complaints other viewers have...I donโt have a problem with any of it. I think these might be people new to the franchise who completely missed the point. The characters add levity and something of interest for younger audiences, but they donโt diminish Laraโs adventurous personality. Yโknow. Kind of like in real life? Your friends might be different, but youโre still you. I loved Zip in the games and Iโm glad they added him here. If they continue to show Lara being a badass, Iโll have no problem with it. Even the Witcher โ a very serious, somber character โ has friends who appear in his stories and add playfulness and show other sides of Geralt. Itโs necessary to keep things from feeling two dimensional. I think a more nostalgic โvillainโ would be cool going forwardโ someone similar to Natla. So lighten up, people. Itโs a lighthearted adventure series thatโs loads of fun. Take it for what it is and enjoy the ride.
