Not at all what you expect. I loved this. Monster effects are fabulous. Story and acting are great, very effective and realistic. If not for the use of a well-known character actor as Dekker, I could see conspiracy theorists thinking this was proof of the existence of a real subterranean world of monsters.

I enjoy Ti West films. This one has great performances. Pacing is a bit odd in places. Funny at unexpected times. Really enjoyed this.

Staggeringly terrible. Amazing that this was SO BAD. How was this allowed to even be finished? Someone should have realized half way through that they were throwing good money after bad.

I watch all kinds of horror movies and here's my review: Boring. Drawn out. Not much to say. Thinks it's smarter than it is. Waste of a rental fee. Derivative. Proof that bad projects get green-lit. But still better than watching election coverage.
