Just fabulous. As insightful for today as it was when it was published. Not a long book. The hardest thing, as with all Russian novels and Russian life, even today, is you have to keep close track of the characters names because they can change form the patrynomic to a nickname to the formal name and no one explains to you. I write names down as I come across them and it becomes much easier to keep track.
