I am a lifelong Christian that has belonged to both Protestant churches and the Catholic church. I also attended Christian schools from K-12. The Chosen is something I never experienced before. Are there creative liberties, yes, they are telling a story but never contradict God’s word. Was Matthew exactly like Matthew is portrayed in The Chosen…maybe, maybe not, but does it matter if Christ’s message is told and the overall story and tone is in line with scripture? The Chosen has shown me what Jesus MIGHT have been like to be around during His time on Earth. It is the most powerful and moving portrayal to me ever. It has made me want to be more like Him and shown me what Him being human might have been like. Regardless of accuracy in voice, look, words that aren’t in scripture, I know God is behind this. I know. Everyone should watch this that believes in Him…everyone. Tell your friends!! The quality of acting and scenery is outstanding. I cannot recommend this series more.
