The idea of someone slowly desending in to madness and then a predictable outcome was interesting. But I had hoped that someone in the book would recognize that the main character had issues and step in or at least try to step in. Each person walked away from her and refused to intervene even though she didn't have any close relationships to even her family. I was hoping for some interesting twist but it never happened. Some childhood background as to who she had become. Even the sister in the book said to her that the psychiatrist she visited as a child was not just for an imaginary friend there was more. But it was never elaborated on. However the description of the slow decline over the course of the book was well written. As I got nearer to the end I hoped that there was some sort of revelation as to a cause or trigger and there never was.
