As a shinnichi or Japanophile, I find the quality in this series absolutely outstanding; everything has been supervised to be completely accurate for the period, observing and respecting a millenary culture, I find the acting of great quality, totally convincing, exciting and at the edge of the seat at all times. The only thing I wish is that it was not a mini series and that we would continue to have more of it. I truly hope there’s a spinoff or that the same team that created this version of Shogun will bring to life another Japan inspired project. A standing ovation to Anna Sawai, her performance is absolutely brilliant, same can be said about Hiroyuki Sanada.
