Best in the genre of space horror for the next couple years at least. Excellent writing, character build, suspense, delay, atmosphere. Acting was mostly good with some outstanding moments. Visually stunning. Nailed it with sticking to the source material. Alien scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, now over 40 and this had me tensing up.

Would have been better if it didn't try and be campy with the absurd portrayal of bigfoot barfing, looking like some sort of hairy zombie alien. Two stars because the actors did great. Less stars for the out of place soundtrack, the unreal cliff climbing and other absurdities out of sync with the thoughtful storyline of his past. Maybe it's trying to be funny. It's not.
