Suffer through this over three hour drag only for the magical underwater CGI. The storyline is embarrassingly weak, a high schooler could do better in a shorter time frame. Dreadful dialogue and cringeworthy Americanisms from the Sully Navi and others.
Detested the Marvel movie style violence which was replete with machine guns and ceaseless, pointless gunfire and explosions. This sequel had so much potential to make a deeper commentary about protecting oceans, marine life which is the source of a healthy planet. There were so many avenues to explore including colonialism, Western society's pompous attitudes towards technology, development, and decimating indigenous cultures. What we got was a simplistic villains vs. Good guys shoot out with the requisite death of a fond character. Very embarrassing that Hollywood has devolved to this low.
No amount of gorgeous CGI could redeem this turkey.
