Disney is general has hated me, the middle aged white male, for sometime now, but I thought Star Wars would be my safe haven. The one place that stirs forty years of memory and emotion through the music alone. While every other Disney product has diminished me, Star Wars kept me coming back to Disney Plus. The writing and producing of this series felt intentional and purposeful. Like Bob Igor was speaking to me about the beliefs of his company and a desire to redefine culture. I’m a liberal man. I’m pro LGBTQ. But my gosh, the over the top acting and writing to push a narrative through a legacy story like Star Wars was weird. This is a horrific product and I’m not sure why it was ever green lit. Star Wars is as dead as my Disney Plus subscription. I wonder if Bob understands the damage he’s doing on future generations. Even my 16 year old said all his buddies think Star Wars is now “uncool”. For years it was the movies and series that bonded us. Sad.
