Disappointingly anti-male. One is left with the impression that women are far more intelligent than men. Barbie becomes a ‘real woman’ but Ken’s moment of triumph consists in the revelation ‘I am Ken’ (without reference to Barbie) and he celebrates by sliding down Barbie’s (neon pink) helter skelter. A nice nod to the wisdom of old age (albeit only female old age) was one of the few uplifting moments, as was the bonding of estranged mother and daughter.
