After watching Kevin Costner's disappointing Horizon, among the glut of recent low quality Netflix offerings, American Primeval is a standout. Outstanding acting all around, beautifully shot, and an engaging, nuanced storyline. It is, at times, brutal to watch, but not gratuitously so and brutality was often the order of day on all sides during this time in our history. While Rotten Tomatoes, and nearly all review sources really, have long since ceased being reliable indicators of quality, I am writing this review in the hopes that it might encourage people to watch and see for yourselves.
