I went to see this film with 3 other 'old school nursing collogues'. The script it would seem adapted by the same pen as 'call the midwife' -a nursing themed drama that has never jarred with me, so I had some degree of expectation. As a nurse who spent 8 years in elderly care I had huge issues with this film on multiple levels and would like to know who the medical advisor was! it was laughably bad and had so many themes thrown at it ie miners strike, issues for gay men, dementia, the struggle of families managing it, etc etc and- of course the ending..... please please fine British actors really consider the scripts you are accepting- there must be considerably better than this around- the only saving grace being the delightful young nurse and occupational therapist who lead group activities
Lets Sincerely hope that Harold Fry does not disappoint,
