Game is disappointing. The basic mechanics and game play are fine. Personally I feel like the matches are too short. You can win most 1 vs 1 matches in like a minute. I know they were going for a more arcade game play style, but maybe add an option to adjust how much damage is done or how fast momentum builds.
Also, I waited a little over a month after release before picking it up so they could work some of the kinks out. Still has some serious work to be done. I've lost matches because I got stuck after clipping through the ring. AI needs work, especially in tag matches. There are multiple times where the AI will grapple me, but never do anything. I think they are waiting for their partner for a double team, but the partner is usually busy fighting my partner.
The customization options are also seriously lacking. The create modes are all very limited, just a handful of presets with no real options for details. Match types are also pretty limited, hopefully they will add more in the future, like the Stadium stampede that is being added soon.
Road to Elite story mode is just a few random scenarios with no follow through. Each story is told through a few weeks of Dynamites, leading up to a PPV. You might win a title at a PPV, then the next story starts with no reference to anything that just happened, no reference to being champ, no nothing. In most situations, it also doesn't matter if you win or lose. You will still get the same dialogue and the plot will continue on.
Presentation is a bit basic, but fine. No commentary during the matches, just music playing. You can pick which songs you want to play, which is nice. Entrances are really short, just a few usually coming on the ramp, not full entrances. I know some people really dislike the graphics, personally I don't mind the style choice they went for. Roster is decent, but I think they made a few odd choices on who made the cut and who didn't.
Overall an okay first attempt hopefully it will be improved over time, but the game sits now, as MJF would say, this game is mid.
