I watched it after reading several reviews and critics, but I didnโt see anything that stood out. First of all, it is a modified version of Sean Pennโs Into the Wild and that movie was weaved with a strong inner urge and characterization. However, this movie is nowhere close to what reviews have suggested. I would rate it 2.5 out of 5 just because of naveenโs acting and first half of cinematography.
Plus points: Naveen tried to live the person in search of his identity but at times he couldnโt do justice to the character. Perhaps this must be owed to flawed storytelling and weak writing. I would appreciate the director for at least trying something different and many times I felt like he couldโve done it even better had he worked more on character development. Three female characters just appear in and out of the movie and nothing touches audiences. Again this has to do something with character building and weak narration.
Drawbacks: music is a life saver for this genre of movies, however nothing stand out in this movie. Biggest drawback of this movie is that it tried to include everything and at the end justifies nothing. This stands out because of weak story, flawed narration, and mundane scenes. for example third heroine says she works for a ngo to educate orphan kids and people have this kind of dialogues/scenes in so many movies. Likewise, while watching this I felt director himself was in cluttered mind when playing with emotions. Also, films lacks when it comes to emotions. I donโt know whether itโs naveenโs fault or directorโs lack of experience. Because, the topic which director chosen was very complex and it required an experienced writer and great actor who depicts latterโs imagination. Moreover, this movie has so many flaws and at the end I hated myself for wasting 2 hours of my time watching this scrap film.
