After becoming a huge fan of Abbie Emmons through her insightful YouTube videos, I was eager to see her storytelling skills in action. I began my journey with her novel 100 Days of Summer, which I absolutely loved. Her follow-up book also impressed me, but it was her third book, The Otherworld, that truly blew me away. This novel has been one of the most suspenseful and thrilling reads I’ve encountered in years. Emmons expertly crafts a story filled with tension, internal conflict, and captivating writing. Just when you think things have settled, another twist propels the story forward, keeping you on the edge of your seat. There are plenty of red flags in the relationships regarding codependency, but this is what creates plot in romantic novels. I hope no reader aspires for such an idealized relationship, yet nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and am so glad I took the time to read it. Her writing craft has improved since her previous book, so I can imagine her next novel will be even better. I wholeheartedly recommend The Otherworld to anyone who enjoys fiction and romance with intense drama. I eagerly await Abbie Emmons’ next novel and strongly suggest this book to those seeking a gripping read.
