The movie was amazing and I'm 37 and I can relate my my 4 little girls 4, 10, 13, and 16, all agree that this movie hits close to home and we are label as black Americans.
I say all of this because some critics literally can't see beyond color, nationalities, or Gender roles. THEY FORGET ABOUT THE MESSAGE! And the message was clear for anyone to see.
