One of the best movie seen in days ! Extremely well played characters with a sound story , so relevant in these divisive times where religion and caste is the game politicians play to lure uneducated poor people ! I am so glad that I saw this lovely hard hitting movie . The bond of the teacher with the little boy is amazing …I wish we have more of such teachers around to enlighten and educate the future generations of citizens . Hats off to all the actors , director , story writer and everyone involved . A special word of appreciation for ladoo , the child who lost the battle but will live on in my memory!

A very beautiful movie with super performances! The story is very real and heart rending .....it can be yours or mine ....my dad was from a village in Kashmir which is now in Pakistan and till his death , about a year ago , he had been wanting to see his birth place , see his school , see the river and the mountains!!!! This urge to go back to your roots is very strong once your own nest is empty and you are old ....what a lovely movie ! And what a beautiful way to get out of the communal hatred !!!full marks to actors , writer, director and the whole support group ! A must see !

One of the best series seen in days ! Intense story , brilliant acting and superb direction.....it has everything. A child prodigy Beth ,lands in an orphanage for no fault of hers and forms some bonds which shape her future life . A janitor introduces her to the complex game of chess and she gets hooked to it . She gets addicted to the tranquillisers while in there , makes a very strong bond with Jolene and is later adopted . Her adoptive parents separate and mom helps her get to her dreams of playing professional chess. Beth has to go through her own hell of drinking , drugs , relationships , shortage of money , loneliness and a mother’s death again to fight for a place in a male dominated game of professional chess ! And the end game is hers !!!!! A beautiful story indeed!

One of the most hard hitting films that I have watched in days ! Thought provoking , real , sad , brave , happy and miserable at the same time ! A small girl , a transgender , a widow and a corrupt police officer ...interwoven in sad lives on the ghats of the holy Ganga . But hope prevails ...the end is full of tears and smiles and the soul stirring experience of watching this movie , made me cry too ! Par excellence acting , superb story , authentic locations and perfect direction and editing has made this a master piece ! Well done everyone involved in the project !

I watched this movie because I love animals ...of all shapes , sizes and colours ! Alpha is a beautiful movie with spectacular locations and very authentic real life situations which existed thousands of years ago . A young boy , gentle at heart , tries to find his way home after an accident and meets a deadly wolf on the way . His caring and soft nature tames the wolf who in turn teaches the boy loyalty , love and survival skills . They form a loving team . The wolf is named Alpha by the boy . The wolf is hurt while trying to save the boy and the boy in turn carries the wolf while walking through most hostile conditions . The best award winning scene is the end when Alpha turns out to be a she wolf ready to deliver babies and the babies are accepted in the tribe as members ! Thus begins the journey of our friendship with wolfs and their descendants ,dogs !!! Don’t miss the movie for it’s beautiful locations and heart touching story !
