The movie is a deep dive into multiple issues, such as codependency, status, religion v. relationship, truthfulness, transparency and identity.
I highly recommend watching it, and sitting with the message it speaks to you. Regina Hall gives a nuanced, complex and amazing performance, as does Sterling K. Brown.
