Banal and unfunny. The lead female character is one of the most annoying performances on television. Tasteless “jokes”, stereotypical characters - and that includes Timothy Spall’s TV detective - this attempt to emulate Ludwig, a genuinely funny and original idea, is a total washout. That probably means the BBC will commission another 4 series …. Don’t waste your time watching this.

It’s as close to Reacher as we can expect - and it’s well done. Taut and exciting.
