Awful. I don't know how you mess up a story about a plane hijack so badly, but the "creatives" behind this project managed it somehow. The story doesn't make a shred of sense. Most of the supporting characters act like idiots. The ending is absurd. There's not a single plot twist that took me remotely by surprise (I mean, was anyone remotely surprised when the baddie drove into a forest and switched cars ?). I could go on.
Idris Elba is supposed to be a master negotiator but comes across as a know-it-all fool whose reckless behaviour endangers everyone on the plane. His wife is apparently a renowned professor of quantum physics (!) yet opens her lecture with inane cliches about Schrodinger's cat. The writing is embarrassingly juvenile.
What I find most offensive is the check-box "diverse" casting that portrays every white man as either an inept fool, a coward or a baddie. It gets tiring, very quickly. Oddly the plane is filled Indians, Arabs, Africans and a few White people but not a single Chinese or Japanese person. They weren't "diverse" enough, I guess.
Like I said at the start, awful. I cancelled my subscription after watching this, it's really that bad.
