The game its self is solid and plays very well. Can we please start getting some more mature style my rise stories? The game is rated 16, so why are we playing cringe, kid like storylines. It's really hard to get through the story.

It's by no means a bad game, but it's also far from a great game. The story is forgettable and I only really felt like it got good in the last 15 minutes. The ending in my opinion is amazing and really helps bring together the story AC Valhalla told. The gameplay is very repetitive. Imagine AC 1 but with a little more effort. The world was beautiful and I almost feel a little sad that it wasn't a huge open world that I could get lost in. I know people hated it when AC turned open world RPG, but I didn't mind it. I'm a fan of the whole series and definitely enjoyed all that they offered. It's unfair to compare them to Origin, Odyssey and Valhalla, because they're completely different games. Overall I feel like the tried to trim the fat that the other games had and in doing so they trimmed away alot of features that I personally really enjoyed on the previous titles. The game felt like a step back and not a step forward into something new and that was a real shame for me.

Could of been and should of been so much better! Firstly I'd like to talk about the good points. The gameplay is smooth and fast passed and very accessible. You could hand your mate a controller, give them a few button instructions and they'd give you a competitive fun match. Sadly that is where to plus points stop. The negatives I found where these. The game has no commentary during matches, there is no cage match, no tag ladder matches, the casino battle royal can only hold 4 people in the ring at one time. Infact that is the maximum any match type can hold, 4 people. Weapons go invisible when you walk over them, entrances are 5 seconds long, the create a character is shockingly limited and the road to elite (story mode) is heartbreakingly boring and not enjoyable. I won the casino battle royal at the start of the story mode which allowed me the chance to fight for the vacant AEW world championship. I won the championship and then never defended it again for the entire story mode. I didn't walk to the ring with the belt and I was never acknowledged as the world champion. Towards the end at the last PPV I was put into a 4 way match for the AEW title and my character and the game acted like this was a big opportunity for myself, as if I wasn't already the champion. No voice acting and an extremely repetitive train, recover then compete system. What a shame. Whenever I used to buy wrestling game in the past, it was always for the super fun story modes they put together. It's one of the reasons I stopped buying wwe game, as they stopped making enjoyable story modes. I am deeply disappointed by this AEW game and won't be pre ordering the next one without seeing the game first.
