It wasn't too bad but it wasn't great either. After seeing the original countless times and the original being a film I still love to watch I can't help but compare it to the original. The hyenas were not funny at all like the original nor was zazu. The voice for young Simba did not sound as youthful or innnocent as the original. For some reason the opening scene didn't seem as seamless or flow like the orginal it seemed more robotic. The singing lacked so much emotion,passion and excitement especially for the song I can't wait to be king. They cut out 90% lyrics of one of the most iconic songs in it the be prepared one that Scar sings. Why I have no idea as I was looking forward to that song I love all the songs in the lion king and to cut 90% of lyrics for that song was a let down. There was a lot more uneccasssary dialogue quite a few scenes ran a lot longer than neccessary. Seeing it once was enough and I wouldn't even spend five pounds on it on dvd when it comes cheaper like all dvds do.
