Seeing Kamala Khan fan girl as much as she did was very realistic as you'd expect to see from a Swift or Styles fan these days. The film was fun as a stand-alone in this new phase (but I loved the ending homage and the mid credit scene). The 3 leading actors had great chemistry and it did not feel like a ‘girls get it done' film, just a film about heroes who just happened to be female. No big deal was made of it, it was what it was and it’s about bloody time it was just normalised. It was more centered around family, both related and chosen. I would have liked a better ending for Zawe Ashton's character and the scenes on Aladna were a tad bonkers (but still fun) but honestly I found this one to be the most enjoyable Marvel movie to sit in the cinema with since No Way Home.
The CGI is what you've come to expect from a Marvel movie these days but was by no means the worst I've seen. Gutted about the strike hindering advertising but glad they got what they were asking for from it.
Iman Vellani stood out as the new ‘young innocent’ hero now that Spiderman has had to grow up. Loved her in Ms. Marvel and she kills it again in the Marvels.
Don't let the article headings fool you, this one is worth a trip to the cinema!
