I loved this show as a kid, I sat with MY OWN twin brother watching this other set of twins go on incredible adventures. Then, I grew up. I forgot about Gravity Falls.
When I had absolutely nothing to do over the pandemic, I decided to revisit my childhood. On the list of things to do was re-watch Gravity Falls, so I did. I was hooked yet again. I couldn't believe that I had completely abandoned the thing that had showed me that it was okay to be weird, to love ciphers and puzzles and D&D (I probably fell in love with it because of S2 E13!). This show changed my life, probably. I don't think I would know who I am today if my parents didn't see that weird show on Disney Channel that starred a set of twins that loved each other and decided they would be good role models.
To all the people that say Gravity Falls is "demonic" and "not for children"- you're wrong. It might have the occasional spooky monster that isn't exactly rated G, but kids don't really notice. They're probably not going to get nightmares, if anything they'll think that Bill is cool or funny. It lightheartedly teaches life lessons without you even realizing until you're already years older.
I just want to end this (probably excruciatingly long) review by saying thank you. Thank you Alex Hirsch for your wonderful little idea that you weren't even sure would work and going with it. Thank you to Mike Rianda for going along with Alex's crazy ideas and having some of your own. Thank you to the wonderful human that's here seeing what people had to say about your favorite show or trying to see if you'll like it. I'm with you through space, time, and all the infinite dimensions (especially 46'\!).
If you're even at least a little interested in Gravity Falls DON'T WAIT. Take a trip. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods, waiting.
