As a former athlete, this movie definitely touched a special spot for me. I think to get the most enjoyment out of the movie it needs to be viewed as a stand alone film and not put next to the original. It’s a perfect modern take, the casting was well done and especially noted is Jacks performance, he was natural and charismatic. Despite what some reviews have said, the movie is absolutely worth watching, but should be through its own lens, and not that of the original.
