This show has a lot of promise. ABC seems to be finding success with comedies once again. Fred Savage being an executive producer does seem to have a positive effect on the show, too. The casting is fantastic, and the show gives white viewers a much-needed perspective on black America in the late 1960s.

This show has promise! It’s difficult to create a comedy about serious modern issues like underfunded schools, but this comedy succeeds at getting the message across in a refreshing way. The cast choices are superb, and that helps too.
