Loved lord of the rings movies. Hobbits were pretty good too. I read all the books. Big fan. Top notch acting and the cinematography was incredible. Rings of power is really beyond disappointing. Borderline insulting as a fan and as an audience. The acting is so dry and forced. The dialogue is just superficial and just poor mimicry of Peter Jackson’s version. So little even happens. The parts with the “hobbits” are so boring. Seemingly unending pointless dialogue. I just tuned out. Absolutely no connection with any of the characters. The interaction with Gandalf and Tom B., which lots of people wanted to see from lord of the rings, was so boring and just silly. Omg Galadriel? Like what story or character did this actress pull inspiration from? Certainly not the lord of the rings trilogy. Maybe some crappy teen fantasy. How can a show make the forging of all the rings soooo boring? These writers and directors may have been heavily shackled by Amazon or producers, or they just hired the biggest hacks. The Elrond character grew on me a little and the guy who plays the king of the orcs is good. Dude who plays Sauron and the elf archer who is always traveling around were decent. The father and son dwarf king and prince were ok. The rest? Terrible. Someone needs to remake a series in the Tolkien world that erases this mistake of a show.
