Expecting this movie to actually rise to one's expectations is as foolish as the reactions and thought process of the female protagonist.
A schoolkid decides to escape for a day with her boyfriend and experience the wonders of the outside world. She hops on to her boyfriend's boss's jeep. All is hunky dory till sunset and the boss insists on checking into a shady lodge and then sending the boyfriend off to buy food and liquor. All night the girl cries after being outraged, and once back from getting food, the boy wails but no one seems to notice. Everyone in the shady lodge and town is either blind or deaf.
What follows is a maze of wrong reactions. The girl's about-turn while on their way back makes zero sense. She follows the bad guy like a lost puppy knowing fully well what he is capable of.
The boyfriend feels guilty for whatever happened at the lodge and kills the boss but wonder of wonders, the girl then smashes the boyfriend's head with a stone and cries over her rapist's dead body. This movie is an insult on the way a woman views herself and the respect she has for her body. What is the message being conveyed to young impressionable minds? That just because someone outrages their modesty, instead of fighting back, they should accept their fate?
What were the makers thinking when they made this one? I love Malayalam films but by far, this is the worst I have seen.
