This is one of my favorite stories, and I love the 2003 version, as I was a child when it came out. But this movie honestly cannot be made in this world today, unfortunately. It was a bold effort by Dis ey that in my opinion failed. You cannot make a film about the purity and fun of childhood and this protective of idea to never growing up to push back the unknown dauntlessness of adulthood, when everything in the movie has an adult take on it.
