This book, written to emulate the time of the setting in the late 1800's may be difficult for some who are not well educated....and those my well need to bring along a dictionary. But, if they do they will not only learn something of value they will also get an excellent read. I found this book quite delightful and I am looking so forward to the production of a movie of the same name.
This is the annotated version of the original book actually written in 1885 and was out of print for many years before rediscovered by Project Gutenberg. Since the book is in the public domain having been written prior to 1925 and whose author has been deceased for more than eighty years, the rights to reproduce is not at issue...nor is the fact that this is a very funny caper and should be read aloud with the children for it contains nothing but clean fun! Good reading to all!
