I feel like the game is good, but extremely difficult. Every boss is a nightmare for newer sonic players. Metal is a hard fight that took me a few attempts to get better at. The death egg robot is not that hard, but the phase 2 is an absolute hellhole because after his arm hits the bomb, it is almost impossible to jump on the hand, and the timing for jumping from the arm to the head is kind of hard to get used to. Shadow is an okay boss, my suggestion is to never let go of the boost button, and always try to go the highest path to hit the sphere. Perfect chaos is probably my least favorite boss in the game, mainly because of the second part of phase one, I can never get to the top of that building to jump on the head, making the fight extremely hard to beat at least first try. Silver is actually the best fight in the game, at least in my opinion, every part of the fight seems like an actual sonic boss, though I will say that you have to basically perfect the boosting mechanic to hit silver on the car pile attack. The egg dragoon is an okay fight, most of the time I only go for hits during the wall jump and skydiving sections. But you can also damage the boss by getting close to the boss during the 3d part, and during phase 2 in the 2d part when the segments are separated. I am not even going to talk about the time eater fight, it sucks and alongside the difficulty of perfect chaos and crisis city act 2 are the only reason this game is only 4 stars. Would only recommend if you are a sonic pro.
