The good parts of the story were overshadowed by the bad parts. 2 dimensional characters and the setting made it difficult to relate to the main characters experiences. The main characters were sad, angry, and very little time was spent on exploring why.
Without depth, the characters felt incomplete, The title character had mental health issues that were ignored by the adults that could have helped her and the teen age sexuality parts were way too graphic and felt creepy.
Turtles all the way down is a much better story, skip this book and go for that one
