The premise is whether strange occurrences are rooted in supernatural and evil goings-on, or are they explainable by human condition such as mental illness, sociopathic and psychotic behaviors, drugs, fears, imaginations. An analytical individual, Kristen, who is a clinical psychologist is hired by the Catholic Church to work with a priest in training, David, to look at strange occurrences in a practical, objective viewpoint to see if there are other explanations for strange events. Also on the team is a non believer named Ben who is technically advanced to come up with plausible reasons. A 4th person is Leland who is the antagonist. He certainly is evil any way you slice it, but is it rooted in "supernatural"? He continues to vex Kristen in many different situations. Thought provoking, and interesting characters, especially Kristen who is a mom of 4 girls, former mountain climber, and a clinical psychologist. David is the opposite, but opposites attract! The three of them make an interesting team and there is a friendship among them that makes the 3 a cohesive team. Kristen's mom is played by Christine Lahti who unknowingly becomes involved with the evil going on around Kristen. Kristen is also married but he is off on a mountain climbing adventure, but provides some tension to the show wondering if he'll meet some I'll fate.
