Visually, some of the best work you will see however that is where the positives end.
The plot is a standard revenge story, with a twist that was spoiled unfortunately early. That being said, the lack of character development and uniqueness fails to propel the story to newer heights. The acting is often dull and lack of expression.
The show suffers from the same issue as the prequels. Delving into the past takes away from the mystery of the original trilogy, with poor choreography for fights. This may be due to the new use of filming with the light sabers. The bullet mode adopted from such movies as the matrix feels off in a world where non existed, including the scenes of hand to hand combat.
Unfortunately the show is also heavy handed with political influence, which really begins to highlight in the 3rd and 4th episodes. If you are looking for a return to the original starwars, you will not find it here. However if you are a fan of the new "disney" stars wars, this may excite you.
